Prospective candidates preparing to sit for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have been advised to get ready for the commencement of JAMB profile creation ahead of the 2027 registration exercise.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is expected to commence the creation of profiles for prospective 2027 UTME candidates on December 10, 2026.

The profile creation stage is an important part of the JAMB registration process because candidates need a valid JAMB profile before they can proceed with the subsequent stages of UTME registration.

When Will 2027 JAMB Profile Creation Begin?

According to information currently circulating regarding the 2027 UTME registration exercise, JAMB profile creation is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 10, 2026.

Candidates should, however, note that profile creation is different from the actual purchase of the JAMB UTME application form and completion of registration.

The profile creation process generally comes first, while other registration activities, including e-PIN purchase and registration at accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, follow according to the official timetable released by JAMB.

Candidates are therefore advised to rely on official JAMB announcements for the confirmation of registration deadlines and other important dates.

What Is JAMB Profile Creation?

JAMB profile creation is the process through which a prospective candidate establishes a personal profile with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

The profile contains important candidate information and is linked to details such as the candidate's National Identification Number (NIN), telephone number and email address.

JAMB's official FAQ states that candidates generate their profile code by sending NIN followed by a space and their 11-digit NIN to either 55019 or 66019.

For example:

NIN 00123456789

The message should be sent from the candidate's personal phone number.

What Candidates Should Do Before December 10

Prospective 2027 UTME candidates are encouraged to prepare their documents and personal information before profile creation opens.

1. Obtain a valid NIN

The National Identification Number is an important requirement for JAMB registration. Candidates should ensure that their NIN information is correct before beginning the registration process.

JAMB has repeatedly advised candidates to ensure that the details associated with their NIN correspond with the information they intend to use for registration.

2. Check your personal information

Candidates should carefully check details such as:

• Full name

• Date of birth

• Gender

• State of origin

• Local Government Area

• NIN details

Any discrepancy should be addressed as early as possible rather than waiting until registration is underway.

This is particularly important because JAMB retrieves candidates' biodata from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) database during the registration process.

3. Get a personal phone number

Candidates should use a phone number they can personally access and maintain.

JAMB has previously warned candidates against depending on another person's telephone number for registration because the phone number is an important identifier that may be required for future JAMB transactions.

4. Prepare an active email address

Candidates should also have access to a functional email address.

It is advisable to use an email account that the candidate can access throughout the admission process because important information may be associated with the JAMB profile.

5. Know your intended course and institution

Before completing the actual UTME registration, candidates should research their preferred course and institution.

Candidates should also check the admission requirements for their intended programmes rather than choosing subjects or courses without first confirming the requirements.

JAMB's Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS) provides tools for checking programme eligibility and accessing course-related information.

How to Generate Your JAMB Profile Code

Based on JAMB's published procedure, candidates can request their profile code by sending an SMS in the following format:

NIN [space] 11-digit NIN

Example:

NIN 00123456789

Send the message to:

55019 or 66019

Candidates should ensure there is a space between NIN and the 11-digit identification number.

After successful processing, the candidate receives a profile code that can be used for the subsequent JAMB registration process.

What If You Lose Your Profile Code?

Candidates should keep their profile code safely because it is an important part of the registration process.

JAMB's official FAQ states that a candidate who needs to retrieve a lost profile code can send RESEND from the same registered phone number to 55019 or 66019.

This makes it particularly important for candidates to maintain access to the phone number used during profile creation.

Do Not Rush to Register Through Unofficial Agents

As the 2027 registration period approaches, candidates should be careful about individuals or websites claiming to offer special access to JAMB registration.

Candidates should use JAMB-approved channels and accredited CBT centres when the official registration exercise begins.

They should also avoid giving their personal information, login details or registration credentials to people they do not trust.

JAMB has previously advised candidates to carefully verify their information before final submission and to seek assistance from appropriate JAMB offices when they encounter registration problems.

Is the 2027 JAMB UTME Registration Date Out?

The reported commencement of profile creation on December 10, 2026 should not be confused with the official commencement date for the sale of the 2027 UTME application form.

JAMB normally provides separate dates for different stages of the exercise, including profile creation, e-PIN vending, registration and other activities.

At the time of this report, candidates should watch for the Board's official announcement of the complete 2027 UTME registration timetable before relying on specific registration deadlines.

The official JAMB website remains the best place to verify major announcements concerning the UTME.

What Candidates Should Expect Next

Once the 2027 UTME registration timetable is officially released, candidates can expect JAMB to provide details concerning important aspects of the exercise, including:

• UTME registration commencement date

• Registration closing date

• e-PIN vending period

• Accredited CBT registration

• Mock UTME arrangements

• Main UTME examination date

• Registration fees

• Examination centres

• Other registration requirements

Candidates should avoid relying on social media posts or unofficial websites for dates that have not been formally confirmed by JAMB.

2027 JAMB Candidates Should Start Preparing Now

The commencement of profile creation provides an early opportunity for prospective candidates to put their registration requirements in order.

Candidates who intend to sit for the 2027 UTME should use the period before registration to prepare academically, confirm their preferred course and institution, check admission requirements and ensure that their personal information is accurate.

They should also avoid waiting until the final days of registration before attempting to create their profile or resolve problems with their NIN.

Final Note

The 2027 JAMB UTME profile creation is expected to begin on December 10, 2026, marking an important early step towards the 2027 UTME registration exercise.

However, candidates should note that profile creation is not the same as UTME registration. The official JAMB timetable should be consulted for the confirmed dates for e-PIN vending, registration, mock examination and the main 2027 UTME.

EduXpress will continue to provide updates on the 2027 JAMB UTME registration, profile creation, examination date, syllabus, subject combinations, admission requirements and other important JAMB announcements as they are officially released.
