GOOD NEWS FOR CANDIDATES: JAMB OPENS HOME-BASED CAPS O'LEVEL RESULT UPLOAD PORTAL - Read for full details

By admin     2 months ago

Candidates can now upload O’Level results from the comfort of their homes — and this is a major win for UTME and Direct Entry applicants across Nigeria.

As a responsive Examination board committed to providing efficient and accessible services and promise hitch free services to the populace, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has facilitated the verification of candidates' O'Level results directly from the various examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, SSCE, beginning with the West African Examinations Council, WAEC.

Consequently, candidates can now upload their O'Level results from the comfort of their homes, while the Board undertakes the verification of such results directly with the issuing examination bodies.

This update is expected to reduce stress, cut costs, and save candidates from long queues, unnecessary visits to CBT centres, and last-minute rush.

What Changed?

Before now, candidates had to visit an accredited JAMB CBT center to upload their WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or other O’Level results to the JAMB portal.

With this new system, JAMB has integrated its eFacility platform with examination bodies. Results can now be verified directly against the examination body's records before being downloaded into the candidate's profile. This also addresses challenges like misplaced or mixed-up paper results, presentation of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors in manual entry of subjects and grades.

Why This Matters for Candidates

1. Convenience: No transport fare, no standing in line. You can upload from Ibadan, Lagos, or your village.

2. Time-saving: Avoids the crowd at CBT centers, especially during admission season and periods of network challenges.

3. Fewer Errors: You can take your time to cross-check before submitting, and results are verified directly from the exam body.

4. Faster Admission Processing: Schools can access your result on the JAMB CAPS on time, which speeds up admission offers.

5. Safer: Reduces the risk of fraud and errors because verification is done directly with WAEC and other bodies.

Note: You still need a good internet connection and your result must already be released by WAEC/NECO/NABTEB.

Important Things to Note

1. Deadline still applies: Upload your result before your school of choice closes its admission portal.

2. One-time upload: Make sure the details are correct. Mistakes can affect your admission.

3. CAPS is key: After uploading, keep checking JAMB CAPS for admission status.

4. For DE Candidates: This also applies to Direct Entry candidates uploading ND/NCE results.

5. The verification service provides candidates with a convenient alternative, especially during periods of high patronage at CBT centres.

Final Thoughts

This initiative reflects the commitment of the sixth Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Segun Aina, to a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system. The Board will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates.

If you’ve been waiting to upload your result, now is the time to do it from home and avoid the rush.
