YABA College of Technology Begins verification of O'level result for 2026/2027 Applicants - Application Slips available for printing-
By admin 3 months ago
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has officially commenced the O’Level Results Verification exercise for all candidates seeking admission into ND Full-Time programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. The management advised that all applicants, especially those using WAEC results, must complete the verification process immediately to avoid delays or disqualification during admission processing. In addition, the Application Slip is now available on the portal for all successfully registered Post-UTME candidates. You are required to log in, confirm your details, and print the slip for clearance and admission purposes.
1. What Is YABATECH O’Level Results Verification?
This is a mandatory online process where YABATECH confirms the authenticity of your WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB result directly from the exam body’s database. It was introduced to curb fake results and reduce admission fraud.
If you do not verify your O’Level result, YABATECH will not process your admission on JAMB CAPS even if you scored 300 in UTME.
2. Who Must Do This Verification?
All candidates who meet these conditions:
1. Chose YABATECH as first choice in 2026 UTME and scored 150 and above.
2. Applied for YABATECH Post-UTME 2026/2027 and paid the N2,000 screening fee.
3. Uploaded O’Level results on YABATECH portal during Post-UTME registration.
4. Are using WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results. Candidates with WAEC are specifically mentioned because WAEC has an automated verification system.
Direct Entry and HND applicants are not affected by this exercise. It is strictly for ND Full-Time UTME candidates.
3. Requirements for O’Level Verification
Before you start, ensure you have:
1. YABATECH Application Number and password used during Post-UTME registration.
2. Correct O’Level Exam Details: Exam type WAEC/NECO, Exam year, Exam number/centre number, and scratch card PIN for NECO. WAEC does not require PIN.
3. Active Email and Phone Number for OTP confirmation.
4. N1,000 Verification Fee payable online via Remita. This is separate from the Post-UTME fee.
5. Scanned copy of O’Level result if requested, though most are verified electronically.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Verify Your O’Level Result on YABATECH Portal
Step 1: Visit the official YABATECH admission portal at https://portal.yabatech.edu.ng or https://erp.yabatech.edu.ng
Step 2: Click on “2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening” and select “Applicant Login”.
Step 3: Log in with your Application Number and Password. If you forgot your password, click “Forgot Password” to reset.
Step 4: On your dashboard, locate and click on “O’Level Results Verification”.
Step 5: Select your exam body: WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB. Enter your exam year and exam number exactly as it appears on your certificate.
Step 6: For NECO, enter the token/PIN from your result scratch card. For WAEC, no PIN is needed.
Step 7: Generate Remita RRR and pay the N1,000 verification fee online with ATM card or at any bank.
Step 8: After payment, click “Verify Now”. The system will connect to WAEC/NECO database and confirm your result in real time.
Step 9: If successful, you will see “Verification Successful” with a green tick. If it fails, check your details and try again or contact ICT.
Step 10: Print your “O’Level Verification Slip” as evidence.
5. How to Print Your YABATECH Application Slip
The Application Slip contains your bio-data, UTME score, O’Level grades, screening score, and passport. You will need it for physical clearance.
To print:
1. Log in to the same portal at https://portal.yabatech.edu.ng
2. Click on “Application Slip” on your dashboard.
3. Confirm that your O’Level status shows “Verified”. If it shows “Not Verified”, you cannot print the slip.
4. Click “Print Application Slip”. Use a colour printer if possible.
5. Print 2-3 copies and keep them safe. You will submit one during clearance.
6. Deadline for Verification and Printing of Slip
YABATECH has not announced a specific closing date yet, but the notice says candidates should “complete all required admission procedures within the stipulated timeline”.
Based on previous sessions, the portal usually closes 1-2 weeks before the first admission list. For 2026/2027, expect the deadline to be around 10th August 2026.
Do not wait. JAMB will start offering admission by mid-August. If your result is not verified, CAPS will skip you.
7. Common Issues and How to Solve Them
1. “Invalid Exam Number” Error: Check that you entered your WAEC/NECO number correctly. For WAEC, use the 10-digit number e.g. 4310123456. Do not add the centre number separately.
2. “Result Not Found” for NECO: Your scratch card PIN may have been used up or invalid. Buy a new NECO result checker token from http://www.neco.gov.ng
3. “Payment Made but Not Verified”: Click “Re-query Remita” on the portal. If it fails after 24 hours, send RRR, Application Number, and proof of payment to ict@yabatech.edu.ng
4. “Name Mismatch” Error: If your name on WAEC is different from JAMB due to rearrangement, it will still verify. But if spelling is different, visit WAEC office for correction.
5. Using Two Sittings: You must verify both results separately and pay N1,000 for each. The portal allows you to add second sitting.
8. Other Important Admission Requirements for YABATECH
Verification is not the only step. Ensure you have also done these:
1. Upload O’Level to JAMB CAPS: Visit any JAMB CBT centre to upload your result. YABATECH will not admit you if it’s not on CAPS.
2. YABATECH Cut-Off Mark: General cut-off is 150, but competitive courses are higher. Engineering 200+, Science Lab Tech 190+, Computer Science 190+, Mass Comm 200+, Accountancy 180+.
3. Age Requirement: You must be 16 years by 31st October 2026.
9. What Happens After Verification
1. Wait for Admission List: YABATECH will release the first merit list by late August 2026 on the portal and JAMB CAPS.
2. Accept Admission on CAPS: Once offered, log in to https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng and click “Accept Admission”.
3. Print Admission Letter: Print both JAMB and YABATECH admission letters.
4. Pay Acceptance Fee: N25,000 within 2 weeks of admission offer.
5. Physical Clearance: Come to YABATECH with originals of all credentials, application slip, O’Level verification slip, and birth certificate.
Go to the ICT Centre physically if your issue is not resolved within 48 hours online.
Final Advice
YABATECH is the most sought-after polytechnic in Nigeria. Over 50,000 candidates apply yearly for less than 5,000 ND slots. This O’Level verification is a major screening stage.
Complete it now. Many candidates lost admission last year because they ignored verification and their status remained “Awaiting Result” on CAPS.
If you used “Awaiting Result” during Post-UTME, quickly upload your result on JAMB CAPS and then do this verification. Both are compulsory.
Have you verified your O’Level for YABATECH 2026/2027? Comment your course and status below. If you see “Verification Successful”, your admission chances just increased.
