The Lagos State University School of Basic and Advanced Studies, LASUSBAS, has officially announced the commencement of sales of admission forms into its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board, JUPEB, programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

About LASUSBAS JUPEB Programme

The JUPEB programme is a one-year advanced level course approved by the Federal Government and coordinated by the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board. At the end of the programme, successful candidates write the JUPEB examinations and the scores are used to gain Direct Entry admission into 200 Level in LASU and other participating universities.

LASUSBAS has over the years built a reputation for quality teaching, excellent facilities, and high success rates in the JUPEB examinations. The programme is domiciled at the LASU main campus, Ojo, Lagos.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the LASUSBAS JUPEB programme for 2026/2027 session, candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Applicants MUST Possess a minimum of five O'Level credits at not more than two sittings in relevant subjects including English Language. 

2. Applicants with awaiting O'Level results can also apply but must upload their results before the commencement of JUPEB examinations.

3. Applicants Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of admission.

Duration of Programme

The programme runs for a period of one academic session, approximately 9 to 12 months of intensive lectures.

Method of Application

Eligible candidates are to follow the steps below to apply:

1. Visit the LASUSBAS admission portal at https://lasu.edu.ng/bas

2. Click on 2026/2027 JUPEB Application.

3. Create an account with a valid email address and phone number.

4. Pay the non-refundable application fee online using ATM card or other available payment options.

5. Complete the application form and upload required documents including O'Level results and passport photograph.

6. Submit the form and print the application acknowledgement slip.

Screening and Lectures

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a screening exercise. Lectures will commence immediately after registration and screening. Classes hold at the LASUSBAS campus in LASU Ojo.

1. LASUSBAS JUPEB certificate is accepted for Direct Entry admission into 200 Level in LASU and other JUPEB affiliated universities such as UNILAG, OAU, UI, BUK, etc.

2. Admission into LASU through JUPEB is competitive and based on merit and available quota.

3. Candidates must attend lectures regularly as 75 percent attendance is compulsory.
